Cal Lee Garrett is a critical sociologist who studies health, illness, environment, and social inequality in the United States with qualitative methods and interdisciplinary frameworks. They are especially interested in anticolonial theories, disability justice, queer theory, and science and technology studies. Cal received their PhD in sociology from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2024 where their dissertation studied the politics of green space and environmental health.
